What Next?
As we came to a stop the navigator took his seat where Jaina had been sitting. They drug her off to sick-bay as soon as we knew that we were in normal space.
"Where are we, Captain Fortriel?" The admiral asked.
The captain was leaning over the shoulder of the lieutenant who was looking at the data but did not appear happy.
"Admiral," the captain finally spoke, "we are in the Endor system, very close to the forest moon."
"Very good. Chart us a course back to the fleet, captain." The admiral was getting up from his command chair.
"Admiral, there does seem to be a problem with that." The captain looked pensively at the flag officer.
"Well?"
Everyone on the bridge had their eyes on Captain Fortriel, waiting to hear what other information that he held.
"Sir, the issue is not only where we are, but when. It seems that our little incident has caused us to jump back in time."
The admiral remained silent. Everyone knew what the next question would be, so we all held our breath.
"Ah, approximately three months, sir. We will have an exact figure in a little while, but the telemetry that we are picking up is around 93 days old, admiral."
The Admiral stood there thinking. I can see why he is considered one of the best leaders in the Republic's military. He only made snap decisions when he had to, and right now he needed to think.
"Senior staff to the briefing room. Captain Fortriel, take us to a safe place where we will not be seen for a while. Then, stand down from battle stations, and you have the bridge."
Suddenly the bridge was full of voices giving orders and responding to orders as people shuffled around to different positions. I made my way out to go to my office before heading to the briefing room. On the way I was wondering if this temporal shift meant that I still had to make the payments on my speeder for three more months.
